ASSEMBLY & RAPID PROTOTYPING
In response to the demand for short run product development, we have developed a rapid prototype and short run assembly process that is specifically customised for silicone hose assemblies.
Using additive layer technology, we can rapidly manufacture tooling, trimming and assembly jigs , techniques which allow us to accurately prototype silicone hoses and assemblies to our customers 3-dimensional CAD in a very short time frame.
At the early stage of a project we will supply the customer with our manufacturing specifications and capabilities such as, bend radius, clamp lengths, clamping and joining information. We are then able to take their full CAD detail and support their design with our in-house solid works capability. Once assessed by our quality control team the new models are submitted back to the customer for approval prior to tooling.
This process often has the effect of helping to streamline the design process preventing the requirement for multiple alterations and amends - thus saving time and related costs.
All our customers hose and assembly projects are supported by our Design for Manufacture process which sets out to identify any potential production and manufacture problems in advance of the first production samples.
DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE
ACCURATE, REPEATABLE ASSEMBLY
Working closely with our partners we are able to develop the final supplied drawings to create a 3 dimensional production tool from the internal diameter of their CAD model.
Using the same files we build a trimming and assembly CAD model from which we are able to produce production jigs using our in-house additive layering technology.
Complex hose assemblies often require several production and assembly jigs that interlock and support various build techniques.
This process is not only rapid but also has the advantage of facilitating for quick incremental adjustments to designs. The final result is a final hose assembly that is guaranteed to be accurately reproduced and replicated time after time.
